The Australian Medical Association fee structure forms the basis of the Doctors own billing policy, and their fees reflect the time taken and degree of complexity in each consultation.
However, each individual Doctor sets their own fees so fees may vary. Commonly healthcare card holders & pensioners are billed about $20 - $30 above rebate and commonly children under 5 yrs are bulkbilled. Click here to view the individual Doctor profiles.

Appointment Length & Fees
Please specify the length of appointment you require at the time of booking to ensure that you have adequate time booked to address your concerns. If you are unsure how much time you require for your appointment, one of our friendly receptionists will be happy to assist you. Time = quality. Not booking enough time can put a Drs under pressure and affect the quality outcomes of an appointment. If you book more than you need, only time used will be billed and equally billing increases if more time taken than booked.
Private Patient Fees
Doctors take minimizing patient waiting times very seriously and can only give the booked amount of time to each patient (unless urgent and whatever time is needed is taken). If doctors run over time by 2 mins per appt they would be running 1 hr late by the end of the day! Doctors know no one wants that so doctors need patients help to run on time.
Doctor's average wait time is 6 mins though emergencies do cause delays some days. This is unavoidable. The Hotdoc app does have a waiting time notification if you use that.
Doctors prefer a 20 min appointment for new patients .If you do not specify a length of appointment at time of booking it will be assumed to be a 10 minute appointment, and unless urgent, you may be asked to return again if there is not enough time to properly manage your health complaint in one appointment. If you arrive after your appointment time is over you may have to rebook so as not delay every appointment after you for the rest of the day which is unfair to doctors' other patients who are busy working people on tight time schedules.
