Test results are reviewed by your doctor, if the doctor has already asked you to return to the practice for results discussion please just make an appointment since the reason you will have been asked to return is that further discussion and follow up will be required no matter what the results are and this cannot be done over the phone. If it can be done over the phone, the Doctor will advise a telehealth appointment.
For confidentiality reasons receptionists cannot give any results to patients at the front desk or over the phone. Make an appointment for results. 1-2 SMS and or a single recall email may be sent for a routine reminder or non urgent results. You will be sent a link via Hotdoc app to get a message from the practice - it is safe to click
2- 3 SMS are sent and A SINGLE recall email will be sent for results only so make sure your contact details are up to date every time you visit us. Please make sure your contact details including phone, address, email or your NOK or emergency contacts are correct each time you come and you notify us if you change any of them.
It is very important that you phone us well before your appointment if you are unable to keep it. We always have more patients than appointments, so your failure to make that appointment available for booking means another patient has been turned away when they were most in need of our help.
General practice has to be protected as the frontline for care for the general population and the respiratory centres have been set up to manage all cold and flu symptoms to keep general practice, the Drs ,staff and patients in their waiting rooms safe.
Under no circumstances is anyone to enter the building with any sniffles, sore throat, cough, or fever . Aches or loss taste or smell , diarrhoea or if you have visited a suspect site in last 2 weeks or been in contact with someone who has or been to a hotspot area or is in quarantine or isolation. Hay fever symptoms are also barred until triage by the Dr via a telehealth appt first.
At the telehealth appt the Dr will discuss the reason for your visit first. If its ok to enter the building, they will let you down the lift. A negative covid test is not proof you dont have it. You may be incubating still and copy of the test will be required in advance of appt. Your hayfever symptoms can be similar to Covid symptoms, Your belief that you don’t have it is not relevant. Everyone is a suspect Covid case until proven otherwise
Do not worry, many urtis may be managed per phone and certificates and scripts for antibiotics and other medicines given but you must not under any circumstances come in. Book telehealth appt first (or go direct to respiratory centres or Covid testing centres if you have symptoms). No need for a referral during a lockdown period
AS EMPLOYERS WE NEED A SAFE WORKPLACE AND CANNOT DO THAT IF THERE IS NO MASK WORN DURING PERIODS OF TRANSMISSION.
MASKS MUST BE WORN - (except under 2yrs) during periods they are mandated. As Covid is circulating in the younger age groups they are higher risk currently and best seen at the respiratory centres. We know this is inconvenient but thats the pandemic plan to protect the front line of health workers in General Practice. They must not come downstairs if unmasked or not triaged by the Dr first BEFORE ARRIVAL ON PREMISES.
PLEASE RESPECT THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS TO BE SAFE. Those who breach these rules, and come in without telephone triage by the Drs ,or are not truthful in their answers, will not be examined or prescribed for and cannot be seen again with us. Do not come early to appts and do not bring others with you so we keep social distancing.
