Telehealth

Telehealth, also known as telemedicine, is a type of healthcare that uses technology to provide medical care and consultations remotely. With telehealth, patients can access medical services and consultations from the comfort of their own home, office or any other location with an internet connection. Telehealth services can include a phone or video consultations with a doctor, virtual checkups, remote monitoring, prescriptions, referrals, organising Covid tests, and Covid illness management, blood tests, certificates, order xrays etc

Scripts can be sent to your phone or email electronically now and certificates and referrals sent via email after consultation. They can also be sent to the cloud to access anywhere if you register with Active scripts list at the chemist so there is no need for phones or paper scripts

There are many benefits to using telehealth services. It can be a convenient and efficient way to access medical care, especially for people who live in remote or rural areas, have mobility issues, or have a busy schedule. Telehealth can also be a cost-effective option, as it can save patients time and money by avoiding travel to a doctor's office or emergency room. Additionally, telehealth can help reduce the spread of infectious diseases by allowing patients to receive medical care without being in physical contact with others.

It is important to note that telehealth services should not be used in emergency situations where immediate medical attention is required. In those cases, patients should call their local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency room. But certainly advice can be sought via a Telehealth appointment if this is necessary. Not all appointments are suitable for Telemedicine appointments eg abdominal pains would require an onsite appointment to enable the abdomen to be felt

Overall, telehealth services can be a valuable resource for patients seeking medical care and support, and they can provide increased access to healthcare for those who may otherwise have difficulty accessing it. However face to face appointments are preferred by Drs as diagnosis is more difficult via Telemedicine. The experienced Queen Street Doctors here are experts in their field and are specialist GPs with 10 years of training . They are Telehealth expert doctors who can manage your health for many acute and chronic conditions safely from wherever you are located.

Its really important not to fragment your care by visiting multiple disconnected medical services. This is a recipe for delayed and incorrect diagnosis. Register with Drs here who know you, and are stable long term Drs who will be available for the long term for your ongoing life care.

We offer after hours support and telehealth for our regular patients who register with us for their ongoing medical care

Remember if you have not been seen onsite in the last 12 mths there is no Medicare rebate unless its Covid related, sexual or reproductive health related, your are under 12 mths of age , homeless or displaced by disaster
